Lil Scrappy Stabbed, Arrested

Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy was involved in an altercation early Saturday morning that resulted in him being stabbed and ultimately arrested.

The word on the street is Lil Scrappy received a call from his sister who was being attacked by her boyfriend. As with all brothers who love their sister, he went over there. When he confronted the guy, he was stabbed in the arm. When the police arrived on the scene they found a .38 Caliber, 2 lbs of weed and 8 grand in his car. He is in stable condition with charges that include felony firearm possession, felony marijuana possession, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor obstruction of officers.

N.A.S are the letters that spell....CLASSIC

Just about every album he has dropped in the new millennium has either been thoughtfully penned beautifully tragic pieces like the slightly somber “God’s Son” penned in the wake of his mother’s death, or an affirmation of his hardcore gritty NY rap roots with the double album “Streets Disciple”, or the intentionally controversial titled semi concept album “Hip Hop is Dead”. Just the titles alone shows an artist hell bent on leaving a huge dent in hip hop before he bows out. His new album was to be titled the most offensive racial epithet ever uttered (yes that one). Although Nas changed the album title to simply “Nas” he assured the fans that the content will be just as politically charged and incendiary as the former album title conveys. This album goes far and beyond his first classic of "Illmatic", here Nasir shows he growth he has made in his entire career cementing his place among, if not the greatest of all time.

The Wire’ Is Mostly Shut Out Of The Emmy Awards

The Emmy Nominations are out, and because the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is nothing if not consistently out of touch, The Wire, which has been hailed by critics and viewers as one of the best shows ever made, was only nominated for one writing award. The best drama series nominees are Boston Legal, Damages, Dexter, House, Lost, and Mad Men. Having seen several episodes of all of these shows (except Damages), I can honestly say that The Wire is better than all of them, although Lost and Mad Men definitely deserve the nominations. In other nomination news, Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad were nominated for their performance in Raisin in the Sun, which was nominated for best TV movie or miniseries. Alfre Woodard also got a TV movie acting nod for her role in Pictures of Hollis Woods. Chandra Wilson of Grey’s Anatomy and Vanessa Williams got nominations as well.
